The Banishing Act

Horror | Co-Op

A first-person supernatural thriller where it is your responsibility as a Banisher to piece together The Clues, identify the Cursed Objects, and Banish the dwelling Demon back to Hell.

  • The Clues

Upon leaving your base and entering the locations where the Demons dwell, you must find the notes left behind by those who came before. These notes will provide clues to what the cursed objects are, which are required to perform the ritual and banish the Demon.

  • Sacrementals and Tools

In order to survive, banishers must utlize Sacrementals and Tools at their disposal. Whether splashing Holy Water on doors to temporarily prevent demons from passing through, opening the Holy Bible to deter the Demon during a chase, or just cracking a glow stick to provide more light, the gear you take with you just might determine if you live, or die.

  • Customization

Being a banisher is a tough job, you should be rewarded for your efforts. Use your hard earned cash to Upgrade Your Base, Buy Characters, Hats, and Watches.

The studio

One developer, committed to quality

Haptic Games is my passion and is only just getting started.

Speaking of getting started, how bout I give some background on this studio?

I have been messing around in Unity and Unreal Engine since around 2013. Mostly making small goofy projects for myself, never anything meant to be released. As I went to college for Computer Engineering and later a masters in Cybersecurity, I never dreamed that I would have the time or energy to make video games. Somehow my desire for building something that is completely from my own imagination and grinding until it became reality became addicting to me.

My first released game, SportSprint, was an experiment for me - an experiment to test my commitment and ability to learn, from scratch, a host of new skills needed to solo develop a game. As I had zero experience with 3D modeling, textures, C#, rigging, animation, UI design, audio design, musical composing, or any of the tools required to do those things. SportSprint was at its core a project for me to develop those skills and do everything I could manually, painfully, even though that meant reinventing the wheel for a lot of things (Such as going in Dick's and recording me bouncing a baskbetball to get the sound and then editing out the background noise).

The Banishing Act is my first attempt at making a deeper, more complex game, meant to utilize the power of a PC. I will be honest, I am not the biggest fan of horror, however, I love composing music and The Banishing Act started as an excuse for me to compose creepy music. I have spent many months developing other games in between SportSprint and The Banishing Act that were never completed. Mostly VR games, a soccer game that I may resume some day and a VR hero shooter Si-Fi game that I will most likely not return to.
